August 6th, 2009 - Posted in Modern HouseThe Farnsworth House is an icon of 20th century modern architecture was designed and constructed by architect, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is located at River Road, south of the city of Plano, Illinois, United states of America. The steel and glass house was commissioned by Dr. Edith Farnsworth, a prominent Chicago-based nephrologist, as a place where she could engage in her hobbies, playing the violin, translating poetry, and enjoying nature. The architect, Mies van der Rohe created for her a 1,500-square-foot house that is widely recognized as an iconic masterpiece of modernist architecture.
The home was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006, after joining the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. The house design is currently operated as a house museum by the National Trust for Historic Preservation group, Landmarks Illinois. via

What a dream home to be in! I like every part of this house pictures posted here. I have decided that I will renovate my interiors by changing the ceiling and making some major change in furniture all over my home after seeing this post here. It is stunning!
